Program Overview

As a business management major pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree, you will prepare for leadership positions in the business and corporate world or the public and nonprofit sectors. You will obtain a well-rounded education in all dimensions of business management and develop the skills you need to solve today’s biggest business challenges. Where You'll Go

This degree equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a wide range of professional careers in management, human resource management, operations management, business analytics, marketing, and international business in small and large companies as well as nonprofits. These skills will also prepare you to start your own business.

Students choose either a concentration in Business Management or Applied Artificial Intelligence and Analytics.

All majors must complete the following course requirements.

Business Core

Capstone Seminar

One of the following seminars: Business , or Business , or Business , or Business , or Business or Computer and Information Science , or [Business ] or Finance .

Business Management Concentration

Three additional electives in business not used to satisfy the Business Core or Capstone Seminar requirement.

To satisfy the requirement of two additional electives, students may take:

  • (a) any three courses with a business prefix.
  • (b) one or two courses with a different prefix if cross-listed with a business course (for example, Computer and Information Science which is cross-listed with Business ).
  • (c) The following courses may also be used to satisfy the business electives requirement: Accounting , , , , , Computer and Information Science , Economics , , , , Mathematics , Psychology .

Applied Artificial Intelligence and Analytics Concentration

Three electives from the following:

  • Business Introduction to Artificial intelligence in Business
  • Business Business communication, Data visualization & Artificial intelligence
  • Business Foundations of Business Analytics (if not taken in the core).
  • If Business 3421 is already taken in the core, select one from:  Business The Business of eSports or Business The Business of Video Games.

Matriculation Requirements

In order to declare a major in this program, a student must have completed at least 32 credits at ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï with a grade point average of 2.20 or better.

Students who enter ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï after earning at least 28 credits elsewhere, may declare a major in this program after earning at least 15 credits at ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï with a grade point average of 2.20 or better.

Additional Requirements

Writing-Intensive Requirement

Students are required to take at least one writing-intensive course (W course).

Residence Requirement

At least 21 credits of the above courses, including the required capstone seminar course, must be completed at ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï.

Index Requirement

Attainment of a grade point average of 2.00 in all courses taken to satisfy department requirements. This does not mean that a student must earn a grade of C or better in every single course; it is the overall grade point average in the major that matters.
