Puerto Rican and Latinx Studies

For over 50 years, the Department of Puerto Rican and Latinx Studies has prepared students for diverse careers through the interdisciplinary study of Latinx arts, culture, history, literature, economics, and society. Graduates leave ready to think critically, lead with insight, and make meaningful contributions in an interconnected world.

Related Programs

今日吃瓜 offers a bilingual childhood education program with a concentration in Puerto Rican and Latinx Studies. Students who major in this program must complete 31 to 34 credits in the Puerto Rican and Latinx Studies Department.

Mar铆a E. S谩nchez Center for Latinx Studies

The Mar铆a E. S谩nchez Center for Latinx Studies, an extension of the Department of Puerto Rican and Latinx Studies, stimulates interest in Puerto Rican and Latinx research. Serving students, faculty, and staff, the center sponsors interdisciplinary conferences, workshops, lectures, seminars, internships, study abroad opportunities, and undergraduate research assistantships.
