Daniel 鈥淐hrybaby Cozie鈥� Holloway is a Harlem-born pioneer of the Litefeet movement鈥攁 high-energy freestyle dance that emerged in the early 2000s as part of the continuum of hip-hop culture. Chrysolation, performed by Chrybaby Cozy and the renowned Bomb Squad, brings the origins & evolution of this vibrant NYC street dance tradition to the stage.

Chrysolation is an amalgamation of a 35-year-old developed freestyle approach. The root of this approach is hip-hop by way of Litefeet/Gettin Lite, implementing the utilization of New Jack Swing, Vernacular Jazz, Lindy Hop, House, and Top Rock (Breaking).

The ensemble has captivated audiences on all continents, showcasing the beauty, color, and spirit of Poland鈥檚 folk heritage at the highest artistic level. Spectators at this one-night performance will experience the extraordinary artistry of 150 performers on stage 鈥� the Mazowsze Choir, Ballet, and Orchestra 鈥� in a breathtaking production featuring dynamic choreography, powerful music, and more than 1,500 dazzling costumes representing Poland鈥檚 rich regional traditions.

Mazowsze will perform under the baton of Jacek Boniecki, the ensemble鈥檚 director and conductor.

These hour-long demonstrations are led by faculty member Katrina Killian and feature advanced students. Guests are offered a sneak-peek inside SAB鈥檚 classroom to witness how students train to become professional dancers, and they have the opportunity to try a few steps right from their seats before seeing excerpts from famous ballets including The Nutcracker and Swan Lake鈥損erformed by our students in costume to live music.

Under the direction of conductor George Rothman, the Conservatory Orchestra presents several concerts each semester鈥攔ichly varied programs of repertory from the Baroque to New Music, including concertos featuring the winner of the conservatory鈥檚 annual concerto competition. The orchestra also participates in the conservatory鈥檚 Composer-in-Residence program, through which selected student composers create new works presented in public readings and workshop performances.
