ÌýThe CFR Education Ambassador Program is a nine-month engagement that connects educators across the world with open educational resources, professional development activities, and a vibrant network of like-minded professionals who are committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and perspective to navigate today’s connected world.ÌýÌý

ÌýOver the next several months, Okome will have the opportunity to deepen her understanding of global affairs, exchange ideas with fellow ambassadors, and expand her professional network by interacting with like-minded educators—while teaching these topics in the classroom.Ìý

ÌýEarlier this year, Okome received the 2024 LSA Distinguished Scholar Award for her pioneering work in African studies and advocacy for human rights.Ìý

ÌýThe award recognizes individuals who make significant contributions to Lagos and Nigerian studies. Okome is the founder of the acclaimed ÃŒrìnkèrindò: a Journal of African Migration and has been cited in more than 159 libraries worldwide, which have shared her research on Africa from indigenous perspectives.Ìý
